Making Money With Affiliate Marketing
May 26, 2011
To Make Money in the "Easy" arena of "Affiliate Marketing", isn't nearly as easy as it used to be in many ways, yet is easier than ever in other ways. Like everything it has to be kind of complicated.
There are tons of good and bad programs out there that will teach you how to do affiliate marketing these are various areas
they will focus on pitching you as the primary way to success and I believe these are sound principles.
Develop or Find a Product to Sell - write an ebook, become an expert at something (even if you don't know anything about it), develop software that is useful that people would want to download, have someone write a book for you, develop reports or other give aways to act as "Money Magnets" as Frank Kern calls it. The best ones are if you have a relatively in depth product like a training course (series of manuals, dvds, audios, etc.) you can give away some of this material, useful examples of how they will really benefit from your course. Obviously key pieces of information are missing to where you are still very compelled to purchase, but the money magnets must have true value. There are also literally hundreds of thousands of products, if not millions of other people's or company's products out there that can be sold and many of these can be found in the various affiliate programs. Some of the more reputable and popular ones I am aware of are: Clickbank, Linkshare, ShareASale, CommissionJunction, etc. (put my links in here).
If you have a website and a paypal account you can usually qualify quickly to get an account with an affiliate link manager. So figure out what you know that you enjoy and how to turn it into a profitable niche of something you can capitalize upon your inherent desire to know this subject, topic, product, etc. I will must make up an example paraphrasing Kern again, but if you have a carpet cleaner, who uses a chemical that he has deeply researched and found it to be the best on the market for not leaving residue, flaring up allergies, leaving carpet wet, etc. all the normal problems with traditional carpet cleaning. He could use this research in his own field to become and position himself in the field locallly and possibly even industry wide as a leader in the pros and cons of this particular product. Every product has a flaw so go ahead and point these out and it makes you more trustworthy, credible and believable when you point out the benefits that obviously far outweight the negatives or you a person of integrity wouldn't be selling it.
That is a big part of why I had to leave real estate, because, with the exception of a few clients that had cash and I knew could afford the risk, most of the new people moving into town or even living in town in a smaller home, wanting to upgrade I had to tell to wait or not buy and sell because of the market. Actually if they were truly willing to sell at market and move across and were planning on staying another 5 years or so, then I would be
